2016
Message From the President
As president of CACE, I thank all of our members for their on-going support of CACE. 2015 was an exciting year for CACE as we saw the introduction of our new member ship structure and the waiver of membership fees for corporate counsel. In 2015, CACE continued to expand its continuing education focus including through numerous webinars and provincial lunch and learn sessions. CACE was also active in providing input into key policy and legislative decisions. In the last year, CACE made submissions on a number of important legislative reviews such as the Alberta Essential Services review, the Ontario Labour Relations Act review and the Pay Equity Review in Ontario. CACE was also granted intervener status and made both written and oral submission in the Wilson v. Atomic Energy case before the Supreme Court of Canada.
It is through the strong membership engagement and the excellent work of our dedicated Board of Directors that CACE continues to have a strong voice in matters affecting employers across the country.
We look forward to welcoming our members to the CACE conference in Winnipeg on September 22, 2016. Our conference co-chairs and committee have been hard at work on the conference. The conference is shaping up to be one of the best ever.
We look forward to working with you over the next year and look forward to seeing you in Winnipeg.
Yours truly,
Barbara B. Johnston, Q.C.
