Any Match
Multiple words entered will return results for any matches of any of the words. ie: red car - will return matches for red car, red, and car.
Exact Match
Use double quotation marks (") around search terms and multiple words to search for an exact phrase match. ie: "red car" - Only "red car" matches will be returned (not red or car).
Partial Word
Use the asterisk (*) to create a wildcard at the end of a search term if your word is incomplete. ie: comp* - will return matches for complex, computer, and any word beginning with the letters "comp".

GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERSHIP

CACE is intended to be an organization for true specialists in management-side labour and employment law. Membership is available for individuals as well as discounted memberships with firms with more than five members (see rate charts below).

CACE membership is open to Canadian and US labour and employment lawyers in private practice, government lawyers, as well as in-house labour and employment law counsel.

Membership runs on a fixed date from June 1 to May 31 each year.  Renewal dates are included below.

Full Membership in the Association is open to:

(a) Private practice: management-side labour and employment lawyers in Canada who

  1. devote the majority of their practice to the representation of employers in labour and employment law matters;
  2. do not generally act for trade unions or associations of employees;
  3. are members in good standing of a law society in Canada; and
  4. whose application for membership has been approved by the Association.


(b) In-House or Corporate Counsel and Government Lawyers: lawyers acting as in-house, corporate counsel or government lawyers, who:

  1. devote a portion of their practice to labour and employment law matters on behalf of their employer;
  2. who are members in good standing of a law society in Canada; and
  3. whose application for admission as a Member has been approved by the Association.


Non-voting Affiliate Membership in the Association is open to:

(a) Non Canadian private Practice lawyers: management-side labour and employment lawyers from outside Canada who

  1. devote the majority of their practice to the representation of employers in labour and employment law matters;
  2. who are members in good standing of a law society;
  3. and whose application for admission as a Member has been approved by the Association.


(b) Non Canadian In-House or Corporate Counsel: lawyers from outside Canada acting as in-house counsel who

  1. devote a portion of their practice to labour and employment law matters on behalf of their employer;
  2. who are members in good standing of a law society;
  3. and whose application for admission as a Member has been approved by the Association.


Corporate Counsel and Government Counsel memberships are free, however applicants must still be approved by the Board of Directors and renwed yearly to confirm their practice still qualifes.

Membership Rates:

Individual Full Membership Dues - $125 per year
Membership period is June 1 to May 31, yearly.
Renewal date May 1-31, yearly.

Individual Affiliate Membership Dues - $125 per year
Membership period is June 1 to May 31.
Renewal date May 1-31, yearly.

Bulk Membership Rates
All bulk memberships must be completed by May 24 otherwise they will
have to register as individual memberships.
Renewal date March 1 - May 24, yearly.

Before renewing or applying for membership, please check to see if your firm has a current bulk membership rate by contacting your firm administrator or by emailing Tracy Scanks, CACE Executive Director at  .  As noted, all bulk memberships need to be processed by May 24th, otherwise they will have to be processed as individuals.
